Discussing many such industry trends, Mr Sakkeer Husain, Director Sales & Marketing, D-Link Middle East & Africa shared an overview of the networking market in the GCC.

What are the key strengths of D-Link Business in GCC region?

Our comprehensive and robust product portfolio and our strong hold in the retail segment is the key factor for our success in the region.

Smart home segment is one of the most active areas in today’s technology market. We, as an organization, understood the potential of smart home market in 2010 itself. And since then, our company’s strategic focus was tilted towards smart home segment.

Please share a glimpse about D-Link’s MEA coverage. What level of commitment you carry for the partners and distributors network?

We are more than 125 people team spread all across the MEA region. We cover the entire market footprint in Gulf region as well as Africa. In terms of markets we are having a leadership position in the Enterprise, SMB and Retail segment.

We are extensively committed towards our partners. We are a partner driven organization, which means we regularly invest towards the training of our distributors, resellers, partners, ISPs as well as customers.

Smart home is an emerging market segment in the GCC region. Please share your views on this market?

Smart home segment is one of the most active areas in today’s technology market. We, as an organization, understood the potential of smart home market in 2010 itself. And since then, our company’s strategic focus was tilted towards smart home segment.

Now, we offer a comprehensive product portfolio which is developed around the home segment. Some unique products, such as D-link Cloud have a great leadership by helping customers to control their smart devices. D-Link Cloud works as an application that enables the customer to control, manage and monitor devices such as IP Surveillance Cameras, data censor based switching, other smart devices.

In another market trend, there is a considerable amount of focus going towards niche or targeted market. What are your views on this trend?

Yes, there is a strong market demand coming for targeted products or in simple words category specific products. As an example, D-Link has introduced D-Link Baby Camera. We are getting a great response for this product category. Similarly, D-Link Wi-Fi Water Censors is a growing category.  Infact, consumers are maturing towards the way they consume technology. Technology is getting mixed on their daily livelihood schedules and all of this makes a smart household.

With the growing complexity of devices how does D-Link looks at this trend from the perspective of network management?

Yes, complexity has become very common in today’s computing environment. More and more devices are contributing to the complexity of the network. However, D-link understand the implications network management. Hence, we have introduced D-View 7 product which is a web-based network management system designed to effectively manage device monitoring, configurations and troubleshooting. The web-based design of D-View 7 allows users to manage a network without the need of installing client software. Users can access D-View 7 with browser anytime and from anywhere as long as they are connected with the Internet. This helps the users to manage their network efficiently and effectively with an ease.

What kind of financial growth D-Link is registering in the market?

Last year we grew at 18%, this year we are expecting to grow at 25% to 30%. We are excited towards the market dynamics in the GCC region.

Which are the driving industry verticals for D-Link business in the MEA region?

Industry verticals such as education, hospitality, healthcare, home segment and retailers or traders segment are some the key drivers for D-Link business.
