A10 unveils solution to bridge data center and multi-cloud environments

A10 Networks, a Secure Application Services company, today introduced the A10 Harmony Controller, a revolutionary solution that bridges data center and multi-cloud environments and takes application performance and security analytics to the next level. The new platform is the industry’s only multi-cloud, multi-service solution that centrally coordinates secure application services and open-source solutions across hybrid environments.

Traditionally, trying to span the two worlds of on-premise and the cloud has been a challenge. This is especially true when it comes to managing, controlling and securing applications that reside in different places. There is no single pane of glass. You’d have to Frankenstein the solutions together, which made getting any analytics or visibility across data centers and clouds tricky.

But all that has changed with the new A10 Harmony platform. The Controller is built on microservices and container technologies to deliver a true multi-tenant and highly scalable controller architecture that delivers real-time, per-application analytics and centralized management and orchestration of secure application services across physical data centers and public, private and hybrid clouds, including VMware powered clouds, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure. The result is unrivaled agility and flexibility in how secure application services are managed today and in the future.

“A10 now offers a unique solution that bridges the traditional challenges customers have of managing multiple applications across multiple data center and cloud environments,” said A10 Networks CTO Raj Jalan.” We are giving customers the visibility, performance, and security across this on-premise and cloud spectrum that they demand.”

“As a result, our customers have agility and flexibility as their app and business needs evolve. Our expanded A10 portfolio delivers the level of agility customers need to efficiently and effectively manage secure application services, the flexibility they need to continuously meet emerging needs, and the scalability to satisfy their performance requirements.”

Proactive application management starts with actionable performance analytics. Traditionally, application delivery controllers (ADCs) give basic statistics such as connection counts, but not much else. They also typically lack visibility per application, per URL and per request. The analytics available in A10 Harmony are unsurpassed in the market. Granular visibility empowers better security decisions, while achieving better application performance, which ultimately leads to improved customer satisfaction and swifter ROI.

With Harmony, from a single dashboard, system administrators can gain insight into application performance and proactively add scale and optimize infrastructure before there is any degradation to the end user experience. Analytics are available across the customer’s entire application delivery infrastructure and available for A10 Lightning, A10 Thunder ADC and HAProxy open-source load balancers. Per-application, per-URL and per-request analytics allow seamless management of application workloads across all modern hybrid deployments and data centers.

Harmony offers application performance monitoring-style analytics that are useful to both the line of business users and to application development and DevOps teams through a single, customizable portal. For DevOps and app development teams, Harmony showcases data that can inform their development and deployment decisions and give them an understanding of how their applications perform in both testing and production scenarios.

The Harmony Controller integration with management and analytics capabilities is available across A10’s portfolio of secure application services, including application load balancing and app delivery, a web application firewall and SSL inspection.

The A10 Harmony Controller is available in two deployment models. The first allows organizations to use it as a SaaS offering managed by A10, making it very simple, quick and cost-effective to consume. The controller is also available as a customer-managed, scalable software solution within a customer’s environment in data centers or clouds.

The A10 Harmony controller and Thunder ADC integration, HAProxy load balancer analytics, and native Google Cloud load balancing and WAF offerings will be available in Q2 2017. Integration with other A10 services including SSL inspection, Carrier Grade NAT and converged firewall will be available starting in 2H 2017.
