Neffos X1 series smartphones

TP-Link showcased two of its most recent smartphone offerings, the 5-inch Neffos X1 and the 5.5-inch Neffos X1 Max at MWC 2017 from February 27 to March 2 in Barcelona.

With the accurately engraved dual-curved metallic back cover, the Neffos X1 series introduces a whole new dimension to smartphone design. The curvature makes handling the back feel natural, so that the device will perfectly fit in the palm of your hand.

Coupled with the slim edges of as low as 2.75 millimeters, one of the narrowest in the industry, and you have an ultra-slender body that measures just 7.85 millimeters. That is matched with a chamfer that’s only 0.6-millimeter thin. The bezels along the sides of the Neffos X1 Series have been kept narrow and the length of the handsets reduced to give way to a high screen-to-body ratio of 76 percent.

Built with the best experience in mind, the metallic back cover of the Neffos X1 and X1 Max has been refined to make it look and feel familiar without losing its structure or character. Refining it means making the surface dual-curved. This allows users to easily hold and operate the phones with one hand compared to other handsets of the same size. The Neffos X1 and X1 Max, which feature a custom Android 6.0 Marshmallow build with over 3,000 improvements, offer the best technology available to those who want to build connections and stay connected wherever they are.

Key features:

  • The IPS display renders accurate and vibrant colors; a high contrast ratio of 1,800 to 1 for the X1 Max and 800:1 for the X1; sharp details; excellent brightness levels; and wide viewing angles — perfect for playing graphics-rich games and watching TV shows and movies on the go.
  • It’s protected from bumps, fingerprints, and smudges by a 2.5D curved-edge glass that makes swiping through screens and navigating the interface feel natural.
  • Running the devices is a MediaTek octa-core chipset that is paired with as much as 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For users that need more room for their files and applications, there is a slot for a microSD card with up to 128GB capacity.
  • Included are dual-band Wi-Fi and support for voice over LTE or VoLTE and multiple LTE frequencies for fast mobile internet where available.
  • A fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back for added security. This sensor, which also serves as a way to take selfies, unlocks the device with its screen on in as fast as 0.2 seconds.
  • The Neffos X1 and X1 Max are fitted with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone flash, 5-element lens, and backside illumination.
  • The front bears a 5-megapixel selfie camera that features a wide-angle lens and software that includes a Real-time Beautify mode.
  • With a 3,000mAh battery that supports fast charging like the X1 Max’s, the smartphone can last one full day with moderate usage.
