VMware appoints new VP, Channel and Alliances

VMware announced the appointment of Jean-Phillipe Barleaza as vice president, Channel and Alliances and General Business in EMEA. A key member of the EMEA channel team since joining VMware in 2007, JP Barleaza has been acting vice president in the role since October 2015. In this role he is responsible for defining strategy and managing VMware’s EMEA partner ecosystems, driving VMware’s innovative cloud and business mobility solutions to help partners, OEMs, SISOs and solution providers differentiate their businesses and drive profitability. JP Barleaza is currently UK-based and reports to Jean-Pierre Brulard, senior vice president and general manager VMware EMEA.

“Jean-Philippe has a proven track record working with our partners in EMEA to drive adoption of the  software-defined data centre, unified hybrid cloud and end-user computing solutions, and is a natural choice to now lead all our partner and channel operations in the region,” said Jean-Pierre Brulard, Senior Vice President and General Manager, VMware EMEA. “Jean-Philippe has a real passion and ability for understanding how our partners can embrace VMware’s  technologies to help their customers drive their digital transformation, while deriving commercial success for their businesses.”

JP Barleaza was senior director OEMs, SI-SOs and Service Providers in EMEA until October 2015. Prior to joining VMware, JP Barleaza held senior channel positions covering Southern Europe at both NetApp and Computer Associates. At Computer Associates he was also responsible for creating a number of partner initiatives and programs that were rolled out globally under his watch.
