Asus recently launched a number of new hybrid gadgets in the Kenyan market as it seeks to strengthen its product portfolio in East Africa.
The line-up includes the Transformer Book V, Transformer Book Flip and the Transformer Book T300 Chi, as consumers worldwide continue to warm up to hybrids and convertible notebooks.
“Over time consumers have always wanted to carry a smartphone, a tablet and maybe a laptop PC or an ultrabook on a single platform. The Transformer V, which is the future of convergence, solves this as it merges the three products, all into one,” Asus Kenya country product manager Chris Wen was quoted as saying.
The Transformer Book Flip is a multi-mode notebook that offers four different use cases: completely flat like a tablet, a prop-up pyramid structure, a media-viewing mode with the keyboard down, as well as the traditional laptop mode. The Transformer Book T300 Chi on the other hand is a detachable 2-in-1 laptop with a slim profile.
Asus is also planning to set up an office in Kenya as with an eye on consolidating its market operations in the region as the brand continues to gain market share against competition.
