Cisco announced today that Ziad Salameh has been appointed as Managing Director to lead its Gulf (Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain), Levant, Pakistan and Iraq region and Middle East Services.
As Middle East countries increasingly start to focus on strategic investments in technology in order to become fully digitized, which will be crucial to providing vital job creation and a new path for the future, Ziad’s focus will be on driving growth for Cisco as it supports Middle East countries in building a robust national broadband infrastructure.
Ziad is a seasoned Cisco veteran. He joined Cisco as Director of Services Sales Saudi Arabia in 2009 and, since then, has made business transformation and innovation his key priorities. As well as championing people development, Ziad has always been at the forefront of operational innovation and business growth– doubling the services business during his tenure as well as delivering consistent year on year growth.  Prior to joining Cisco, Ziad held a number of roles at a variety of companies such as Standard Chartered Bank, Digital, Compaq and HP.
Mike Weston, Vice President for Cisco in the Middle East commented, “As the ME region charts the course for economic transformation, the future of the region lies in the ability of private and public sector organizations to set a bold technological agenda and take the initiative on transformational projects that harness the power of Internet to bring about meaningful change. Cisco has a focused agenda to support ME organizations to embrace this change through technology and given his proven credentials in helping to identify opportunities for development and growth, Ziad is rightly placed to lead our next phase of growth in the Gulf, Levant, Pakistan and Iraq.”
Ziad Salameh also commented, “I feel honored to have been chosen to lead Cisco’s business in the Gulf, Levant, Pakistan and Iraq given the important and integral role these countries have in Cisco’s strategy for growth in the Middle East region. To realize the true opportunity of the Internet of Everything era countries and economic systems must become fully digitized and I look forward to leading the country teams in engaging closely with governments and organizations throughout the GLPI region to help them develop agile IT models as well as re-think their core processes for the digital era.”
