Epson showcases their energy efficient inkjet printers

At GITEX Technology Week 2018, Epson further showcased the energy efficiency of business inkjet by donating AED 3 for every page printed by a push-bike powered business inkjet printer. The WorkForce Pro WF-C869R was powered by a push-bike (equipped with dynamos) by different spectators at the Epson stand at GITEX Technology Week 2018 from October 14-18. Epson was able to produce 10,000 pages during the 5-days show through the effort of the participants. This marks an impressive 8,000 more pages produced than a comparable laser printer, which would have required 80% more energy to print it by a more exhausted group of participants.
Epson’s business inkjet printers are symbolic of the brand’s commitment to developing environmentally conscious products. Unlike laser printers, which use a lot of heat to fuse the toner to the paper, inkjet printers have a simple energy-saving structure that fires ink with great precision onto the paper, without using heat, reducing their environmental output.
The raised amount will be donated to support Dubai Cares’ efforts to provide quality education to children and young people in developing countries.
“At Epson we understand education, and we use this knowledge to design technology that makes learning continuous and efficient,” said Jason Whiley, director of sales, Epson Middle East. “That said, we are delighted to have had the opportunity to use our product demonstration for a worthy cause like Dubai Cares, whose interests in offering and expanding quality education are so very close to our own. GITEX Technology Week 2018 has had such an increased focus on environmental consciousness and we are excited to prove the sustainability of business inkjet amongst so many like-minded stakeholders for yet another year.”
“GITEX is a great platform for exploring the crossover between technology and education and we are happy to have a forward-thinking brand like Epson supporting our cause,” said Amal Al Redha, Fundraising Director at Dubai Cares. “Donations from this activity support our global mission to ensure education is regarded as more than just a human right, but an irrevocable asset, and with every donation we are proud to be bridging the gap between the underprivileged children and young people in developing countries and the fundamentals of a good education.”
