Canon Middle East will launch nine new network cameras at Intersec 2016, being held from today until 19th January in Dubai.
The cameras are the first infrared (IR) based fixed box cameras, featuring a 2.4x zoom lens and an ultra-wide 113.4º angle of view for high quality monitoring day or night. The cameras contain a built-in IR LED that enables filming in zero light conditions and the Smart Shade feature which brightens dark areas in the images captured. The cameras offer users longer zoom range to deliver improved identification and feature an IK10 vandal resistance certification, ensuring that users can rely on the cameras operating in all conditions. This makes the cameras highly ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments, including construction, hospitality, retail, transport, city surveillance and critical infrastructure monitoring.

According to a recent research by G4S, Middle East has evolved to be the most vibrant safety and security market in the world. Another report states that in the Mid-East and Africa, the total network video surveillance market was worth about US 420 million in 2014, and industry players are expecting a very healthy increase until 2019, when the entire region will be 94 per cent network video surveillance. In the UAE, increasing demand for higher security cameras and government mandates has boosted the market for IP surveillance systems in the country. The surveillance market is therefore expected to touch USD 197.8 million by 2021, says a research by 6Wresearch.
“Given the importance of ensuring security and safeguarding people, property and assets, entities such as government departments, hotels and resorts and retail outlets increasingly rely on robust surveillance systems as part of their overall security strategy. Canon has indentified these industry demands and the new cameras are reflective of our efforts to meet them,” said Verbrugghe.
At Intersec, Canon Middle East will also demonstrate the flexibility of the cameras and show how they are well integrated with 40 of the top video management softwares. This compatibility has been made possible with Canon’s acquisition of Milestone, one of the world’s leading VMS providers and its partnerships with other such providers such as Netavis and Digiever. As well as partnering with VMS providers, Canon has been investing time and effort into developing partnerships with systems integrators in the region, recently developing relationships in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
The new nine network cameras that are being launched are: High Speed 360° PTZ Network Cameras such as VB-R11VE & VB-R10VE (outdoor), VB-R11 (indoor), Fixed Dome Network Cameras such as VB-M641VE & VB-M640VE (outdoor), VB-M641V & VB-M640V (indoor) and Fixed Box Network Cameras such as VB-M741LE and VB-M740E.
